More than a thumbnail.
The tour begins before the cinema itself. Thomas guides Tobi through a film foyer filled with a collection, figures, posters and personal memorabilia — an immediate sign of how much love for film has shaped this project.
Inside the BAD BASS CINEMA, the tour moves behind the scenes: from the extensive equipment rack with separate power amplifiers to the seating, platform and large self-covered acoustically transparent screen. Speakers and absorbers of roughly six centimetres sit behind it, while Thomas combines Dolby Atmos with AURO-3D.
Room acoustics, first reflections, smart lighting and cinema control, masking and further DIY solutions are discussed openly. An action demo with Oblivion puts the result into context — along with the question this cinema naturally raises: too much bass, or exactly right?
